Google has announced, 24th June 2014, that it is testing a new domain name registration service called Google Domains. It is still very much under development the moment so don’t expect to rush out and buy a domain from them anytime soon.
Rumour’s of Google’s interest in providing domain name services have been around for sometime now and comes as no real surprise from the internet giant.
However, this move does raise questions with regards to ranking priorities etc. Are we about to see an SEO apocalypse for all those domains not provided by Google, time alone will tell.
